When I started this blog one of my intentions was to include some random tidbits that I, and I hope others, will find interesting, or amusing distractions. So far I haven’t included anything like that ’cause there’s been much afoot (or under foot as the case may be) in the undersea world of submarines but here’s something fun today.
This video is a cover version of a Gnarls Barkley song “Crazy”. The interesting thing is that the centerpiece of the song is done on the Theramin electronic instrument. I’ve been fascinated by the sound of the Theramin since it’s early history of providing other-worldly sound effects in such sci-fi classics as Forbidden Planet. More on the Theramin later, ’cause now that I think about it, it’s an interesting topic for another day.
So – for today – enjoy!
Randy George of The Ether and Aether Experiment recently produced an amazing cover version (plus music video) of the Gnarls Barkley song “Crazy” as played on a Theremin, specifically a Moog Etherwave Pro Theremin.
